mizuhiki Mizuhiki is traditional Japanese art of ornamentation and is already 607 years old. For this ornamentation technique colorful paper chords are being used. From these chords various compositions and ornaments are made. While packing the gifts we use only ribbons but Japanese people use Mizuhiki to decorate the presents. Mizuhiki gives an especial meaning to the Japanese word „musubu“. Musubu means „junction“ or „bond“. Japanese people use Mizuhiki to represent warmness and affinity.

This Friday you will get to know more about how to decorate envelopes using Mizuhiki, the materials used for that. You may also try to make envelope by ourselves and give it as a gift to your friends. The lector will be a graphic designer and HASHI club member Virginija Jokubkaitė.

P.S. were will be paper for folding, but you can also bring your own if you wish. The sheet must be A4 format (~21 x 29 cm) and it must be thin. You may bring your own scissors and glue as well.

As always after the presentation: we bring tea, you bring snacks!
