The Centre for Asian Studies invites for a lecture of H.E. Mr. Akio KAWATO, Japanese ex-diplomat, under the title “The way to survive the global paradigm shift: Japan’s strategy for security and prosperity“. The lecture will be delivered on November 10, 2010 at Sugihara auditorium (302) of the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy (Gedimino 44, Kaunas). Lecture time: 14:00-16:00.
Japan has been prospering, enjoying freedom in the society, but heavily relying on the U.S. security guarantee. Now things are changing: growing Chinese power (political, economic and military) and ailing West. What should be Japan’s strategy for future?
The speaker H.E. Mr. Akio KAWATO, Japanese ex-diplomat with extensive experiences in the Soviet Union (later Russia), West Germany, Sweden, the U.S.A., Central Asia and China, will present his observations on the political and social changes in Japan, Europe, Russia, the CIS countries, the U.S. and China. Capitalizing on this, he will elaborate on future courses for Japan’s security, economic growth and democratic governance.
