Linas Didvalis, Master’s degree student from Vytautas Magnus University who has just finished East Asia Region Studies at the VMU Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy, has been accepted to full-time doctoral studies at the International Christian University in Japan, which are to begin in autumn this year.
The VMU student, who is about to receive his MA diploma, won the selection at Vytautas Magnus University and was nominated by the VMU International Office for the Japanese government-sponsored Monbukagakusho Scholarship (MEXT) in January. The commission of Japanese government informed of its final decision half a year later, declaring that Linas Didvalis will be awarded the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship, and the costs of his doctoral studies as well as travel expenses will be covered.
Continuing for more than a decade, collaborations between Vytautas Magnus University and universities of Japan provide VMU students with opportunities for full-time studies at higher education institutions of this country. Currently, two VMU students are studying in Japan’s universities and receiving the Asian country’s state-funded scholarships for one academic year.
