DSC_95331On March 7, 2014, VMU signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bunkyo Gakuin university in Tokyo, Japan. On this occassion the honorable guests from the mentioned university visited our university. Delegation, led by rector prof. Nobuo Kawabe, met with VMU rector prof. Zigmas Lydeka, prorector prof. Auksė Balčytienė, International Relations director Zina Baltrenienė and the head of the Centre for Asian Studies dr. Aurelijus Zykas. Also, the representative from Japanese Embassy in Lithuania, advisor Shinichi Yamanaka, attended the official signing event as well.

During the meeting, the possibilities of students and teachers exchange between two universities were discussed. Next year Bunkyo Gakuin University’s lecturers are planing to visit Kaunas with their students, where they are planning to spend one week creating, discussing and writing joint projects. VMU japanese club ‘Hashi’ will also be joining the delegation during that week.

Bunkyo Gakuin University is a private university in Japan with two students campuses in Tokyo. Around 5 000 students are studying in the four faculties of the university. Bunkyo Gakuin University is active in developing international exchange programs, collaborating with universities in USA, Canada, Europe and Asia.
