The 13th International Symposium “European Discourses on Japan” (Europäische Japan-Diskurse) will be held at VMU Centre for Asian Studies on September 10-11. This annual Symposium is jointly organized by several European universities and is held at different European Cities. This year it will be held at Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas.

On July 19, the student exchange agreement and general agreement for academic cooperation between Vytautas Magnus University and Dongguk University, South Korea was signed. The agreements considered educational and academic exchanges including exchange of academic staff, coordination joint research and training, exchange of documentation and research materials, exchange of students for study and research.
Beginning in 2010 in both universities up to two (2) students per academic year annually can be admitted. The first student from Vytautas Magnus University is already starting his studies at Dongguk University from this September. (more…)

This event, which has become an integral part of VMU Asian Week, is organized by VMU Regional Studies Asian specialization students and VMU Center for Asian Studies together with the Department of Cultural Studies. The Government of Japan has announced a competition for financing studies in Japan according to Japonology study program. Estimated studies duration one year from October 2021.
