VMU Centre for Asian Studies invites to Kyōgen performance, which will be held in Kaunas on Septemeber 13, at Kaunas Drama Theatre.
This first time in Lithuania Kyōgen will be performed by Kyogen master Mr. Shime Shigeyama and the Little Theatre of Kyōgen (Male divadlo kjogenu) from Czech Republic. Two comical pieces of Kyōgen will be performed in Czech an Japanese languages: Boshibari and Shimizu. The performers will also introduce Kyōgen masks, costumes, techniques. (more…)










Prof. Yoshihiko Ikegami (Professor Emeritus of Tokyo University, Professor of Showa Women University), a famous researcher of cognitive linguistics and semiotics, will deliver lectures at VMU in September for University students.
In July, Centre for Asian Studies has received a financial support from Suntory Holdings Limited company. The support is awarded for the international joint research project “Reception of Japanese and Korean Popular Culture in Europe”.
VMU Centre for Asian Studies invites to the International Symposium ”Representation of Japan in Western Medias. Comparison with the Korean Case”, which will be held in Kaunas on November 4-5, 2010, at the VMU “Gallery 101” (Laisvės av. 53, Kaunas). It is the fourth international symposium, organised by the Centre since 2007.
On July 19, the student exchange agreement and general agreement for academic cooperation between Vytautas Magnus University and Dongguk University, South Korea was signed. The agreements considered educational and academic exchanges including exchange of academic staff, coordination joint research and training, exchange of documentation and research materials, exchange of students for study and research.
